THE FALL 2020 FASHION TRENDS
Good Monday Honeys!
Summer is hands down my favorite season hence, it’s always a bittersweet feeling when it starts getting cooler and fall is on its way. But in life, changes always come with the good and the bad and in this circumstance, the good is the fall fashion trends and how amazing they always are!! And no, we ain’t letting Covid-19 #Rona spoil it for us!
I’m well aware that I am FASHIONABLY late talking about fall trends mid-September but whatever, let’s put our feelings aside, and let’s go over some of the top fashion trends that we will implement into our closet this season.
(From left to right) Fall 2020 Collections of Miu Miu (powder blue), Alexander McQueen (rose tan), Zara (chocolate), Max Mara (shade of nudes), Jacquemus (sandstone), Christian Siriano (amberglow), Christopher John Rogers (marigold), Whistles (military olive).
Here are the Trending Colors this season. Gorgeous, right!?
- Shades of nude (brown, beige, and tan)
- Military green (olive green)
- Shades of grey (no-no, not Fifty Shades of Grey… focus!)
- Tones of pink (sandstone, taupe, and rose tan)
- Amberglow (burnt orange)
- Classic blue
- Powder blue (baby blue)
(From left to right) Fall 2020 Collections of Tom Ford (metallic), Rodarte (sheer), Adam Lippes (leather), Giambattista Valli (ruched).
It’s always fun to play with textures!
This fall, we’re seeing that fringes have made a comeback once again and we are not complaining about it. Fringes add movement which gives a flirty and playful vibe to your outfits.
This next one is tricky because it falls under a color and often a texture. Metallics are classic. They are often great for a special occasion and during the holiday season (which will be very interesting this year😷).
The sheer fabric is still trending and I love it. It brings sexiness to an outfit and gives a nice touch to any fabric that you pair it with, whether it is denim, leather, or even velvet (yes I said velvet 😉).
Who is surprised that leather is trending lol? This is why leather pieces are Must-Have Essential in your closet. You can never go wrong with leather!
And finally, ruched…. uuurgh, I wasn’t a fan at first, to be honest. I’m slowly appreciating the ruched detail. It’s not for everybody but this little detail does add and accentuate your curves… perfect for a dinner date, you know, leaving something to his imagination😉.
(From left to right) Fall 2020 Collections of Christian Dior (plaids), Burberry (plaids), Sergio Hudson (houndstooth), Rodarte (houndstooth), Blazé Milano (animal print), Michael Kors (animal print), Missoni (patchwork), Tom Ford (patchwork).
I know prints have a bad reputation and a lot of people try to stay away from them but they are by far my #FAVS. I love playing with different prints and mix & match with different textures and colors.
So first, there’s the plaid pattern. It’s a common print trend in the fall. You see them on pants, jackets, blazers, and even scarves, and that, on both men’s and women’s clothes. It’s a very classic print and this season, you see them in different colors.
I really like the houndstooth pattern and it’s also another nice fall print. Just like plaid, it can be found on different clothing items.
Animal prints are trending, but not only with your usual animal prints (i.e. leopard, snake, and zebra) but also with the actual animal on the clothes! Nice, right!?
And for the last print, patchwork which is not your everyday print but still very cool, especially on denim pieces like jeans.
(From left to right) Fall 2020 Collections of Ulla johnson (doll dress), Jonathan Simkhai (slip dress), Alice + Olivia (2 piece sets), Mango (2 piece sets).
With the colors, textures and prints covered, my top favorite styles of fall 2020 are the doll dress, two pieces set and the slip dress 🥰 (Yes, I’m so girly!).
If you’re a beginner fashionista, I hope you don’t feel too overwhelmed by the runway looks. It’s important to know that all fashion trends start on the runway even if you have a tomboy style.
Also, no matter what the new trends are and how much fun it is to play with them, what really matters is how clothes fit your body. Knowing the different fits that enhance your silhouette is the key to looking like a fashionista. When you identify these pieces, slowly integrate them into your closet and then you can play with the colors and textures.
Remember that God blessed each and every one of us with beautiful and unique features (yes, all of us girl!💕).
I hope you enjoy this Fashion blog post. Now it’s your turn to tell me which trends you love the most this season. Can’t wait to hear about it!
